Adhesive Film Conducts Heat And Electricity

Excellent thermal and electrical conductivity is claimed for the firm's Type 5025E adhesive film for microwave and heatsink applications. The material is available in die-cut preforms, as well as in sheet stock. The silver-filled, unsupported epoxy is electrically conductive in all three axes. In addition, its high level of thermal conductivity allows for bonding of components onto heatsinks in applications that don't require electrical insulation. When used to bond microwave substrates into packages, the film provides RF and EMI shielding. Die-cut preforms are said to be easy to use and to form void-free, thin bond lines.
