With an eye on the thermometer in high-heat applications, the EP24AN two-component epoxy adhesive exhibits a thermal conductivity in excess of 22 BTU/in./ft.2/hr./°F. In terms of electrical insulation properties, the material specifies a volume resistivity of greater than 1013 Ω-cm. It has a 1:1, non-critical mix ratio, weight or volume, and adheres to a wide range of similar and dissimilar substrates. Tensile shear strength is over 1,600 psi. Additionally, the adhesive claims to have an extremely fast cure time at room temperature—gel times can be obtained in 20 minutes. Other reported features include a low coefficient of thermal expansion, low shrinkage, reliable dimensional stability, and a high resistance to shock and chemicals. The EP24AN adhesive is available in half-pint, pint, quart, gallon, and five gallon kits. MASTER BOND INC., Hackensack, NJ. (201) 343-8983.
