Announcing a breakthrough in interconnect performance, the XCede backplane connector supports current and future data rate requirements for datacom, telecom, storage, and wireless equipment. Meeting and exceeding standards for Ethernet, SONET/SDH, PCIe, Fibre Channel, and Infiniband, the platform handles data rates in excess of 20 Gb/s. A unique 3D-shield technology enables very low crosstalk, prevents high-frequency resonance, and removes skew within any differential pair. It supports 2-pair versions, integrated power and guidance, and includes bus-bar power, stacker, cable and coplanar-interconnect components. Pricing is approximately $0.10 to $0.16 per mated signal line in production volumes. AMPHENOL CORP., Nashua, NH. (603) 879-3000.
