Connector Enables Fast Wire Termination

March 31, 2010
IDC SSL connector promises quick, tool-less termination of discrete wires onto LED PCBs

The company’s latest IDC SSL connector promises quick, tool-less termination of discrete wires onto LED PCBs. It terminates 18 through 24 AWG solid and stranded wire employing insulation-displacement technology to eliminate the task of pre-stripping wires and soldering. Suitable for use in harsh environments, LED applications include lighting controls, general illumination fixtures, and interconnection of strings in PCB light modules. Additionally, the connector supports various non-lighting apps that require the attachment of discrete wire leads to PCBs. RoHS compliant, the connector is available in one, two, three, and four positions. TYCO ELECTRONICS, Harrisburg, PA. (800) 522-6752.
