Second generation QMSS and QFSS series connector systems now offer users more options that include power pins, positive alignment features, edge-mount designs, and single-ended and differential pair signal routing. EMI shielding is also optional for applications that require increased insertion depth and other rugged features. Features include signal pins on a 0.635-mm pitch with an 11-mm mated height, up to 160 I/Os per connector set in a single-ended configuration, and up to 64 pairs in a differential pair configuration. Additionally, the systems are hot pluggable with the shields and ground plane mating first followed by the signal pins. Other options include three-stage hot pluggability. Pricing begins at $0.09 to $0.10 per mated line. SAMTEC INC., New Albany, IN. (800) 726-8329.
