A new rectangular plug-in connector housing has been built with screw-type locking. Heavycon Advance connectors are suitable for applications where the connection is typically not plugged, such as feed-through holes in panels. Two simple mounted flanges now replace the standard mounted housing with locking clips. Housings are compatible with all contact inserts and panel cutouts in the Heavycon B series and meet the requirements of IP 67 protective enclosures. They come in three versions: a gray standard housing for the automotive and machine industries; housings that provide corrosion protection; and EMC housings for shielding protection. The Heavycon contact inserts come with 6, 10, 16 and 24 poles in a pin-and-socket version. Screw, crimp and spring connections are compatible with the market standard and fit into any standard connector housing in the B- or E-type series. A simple keying system prevents plugging adjacent hoods. PHOENIX CONTACT INC., Harrisburg, PA. (800) 322-3225.
