To optimize networking capabilities while trimming the budget, the 750-871 Ethernet TCP/IP two-port, programmable Fieldbus controller integrates Ethernet switches into a PLC, enabling PLC control of local and networked devices without incurring additional component costs. The component interfaces with existing Ethernet networks while minimizing the overall number of components. The controller can link the company’s I/O-SYSTEM to the Ethernet Fieldbus and its dual RJ-45 ports can daisy chain up to 20 devices within one series. Each segment may extend to 100m in length. The controller is programmable as per IEC 61131-3 and includes a DIP switch for IP address assignment. Other features include compatibility with several protocols, data rates of 10/100 Mb/s, 512 KB of program memory, 256 KB of data memory, 24 KB of retentive memory, a battery-backed real-time clock, and a 32-bit multi-tasking CPU.
