The 9177 series insulated displacement connectors (IDCs) feature current and voltage ratings up to 15A and 650V, respectively, making them suitable for use in high-voltage inverters and other industrial equipment. Available in single-contact versions

The 9177 series insulated displacement connectors (IDCs) feature current and voltage ratings up to 15A and 650V, respectively, making them suitable for use in high-voltage inverters and other industrial equipment. Available in single-contact versions for separate power handling or two- and three-way configurations, the components are end-stackable for larger pin counts. Prior to assembly, the part surface mounts to the PCB. Employing a mass-termination tool, stranded 14 to 20 AWG wires insert into the contact slot. The process displaces the insulation and enables individual conductors to form a homogeneous joint and the shape of the molding forms a restraint to the wires’ insulation when inserted in the contact. This process promises to eliminate the need for hand soldering and cable preparation. Pricing starts at $0.30 per line each/100. AVX CORP. Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 448-9411.
