Permanent ESD protection is claimed for a new polypropylene-based alloy called Stat-Rite M-200. The opaque, static dissipative polymeric alloy exhibits a surface and volume resistivity of 2 x 1011 ohms/sq. and 6 x 1011 ohms-cm, respectively, and a flexural modulus of 200,000 psi.M-200 alloy is said to provide humidity-independent ESD protection without the risk of particulate, ionic or dynamic off-gas contaminants and can be easily moldable into complex packaging products.
