Carrying power and signals as required in the developing MicroTCA standard, the MINIPAK HD power connector handles up to 280A of current while providing 72 signal contacts in a space measuring 65 mm x 27 mm. The connector delivers a current density exceeding 170A per square inch, meeting the output requirements of the power entry module standard. It features a hot-pluggable contact design to minimize contact damage during live mating and un-mating cycles, as well as a flat-rock seating design for the compliant press-fit vertical receptacle. The mating right angle plug employs solder tails to accommodate PCBs from 0.062" to 0.093" thick. Prices for the right angle plug and vertical receptacle are $9.76 and $7.61 each/1,000, respectively.
