The company's latest RF components are proclaimed as the industry's first multi-layer ceramic broadband balun, band-pass filter, and band-stop filter that specifically target ultra wideband (UWB) applications. The balun is used to convert the balanced and differential outputs from UWB semiconductors, matching them to unbalanced antennas. The band-pass filter eliminates interference outside the used bandwidth and the band-stop filter prevents interference from 802.11a devices at around 5 GHz. Also aimed at portable products, the components sport compact footprints. The balun measures 6 mm x 2 mm x 1 mm, the band-pass filter 4.8 mm 2.5 mm 1.5 mm, and the band-stop filter logs in at 6.3 mm x 4 mm x 1.1 mm. Prototypes should be shipping towards the end of December. For further information, call TRDA INC, San Diego, CA. (408) 573-4150.
