RJ Point Five Connector Doubles Port Densities

Feb. 9, 2010
RJ point five connector system offers double the port density of the standard RJ-45 Ethernet link while maintaining field termination capability
Unveiled as a next-generation Ethernet link, the company’s RJ point five connector system offers double the port density of the standard RJ-45 Ethernet link while maintaining field termination capability. It supports Gigabit speeds of Cat5E UTP cable in integrated and non-integrated magnetic solutions with a roadmap to support PoE+ and 10GBASE-T over Cat 6a cable. With port spacing on a 7-mm centerline, the connector occupies about half the space of an RJ-45 link. Also, the modular configuration of the receptacle allows for easy and rapid deployment of extensions. Along with the high density receptacle, a mating cable assembly is available.
