In addition to offering low flammability and seld-extinguishing characteristics that make them suitable for military, aerospace, industrial and marine wire harnesses, cabling, tubing and hose protection, Halar Expandable Sleeving also is a highly flexible abrasion protector that can expand up to three times its normal size for easy installation over connectors, fittings and other components. The sleeving has a tensile strength of 38,000 psi, can withstand temperatures up to 150°C, and meets UL224 VW-1/FR-1 and UL94 V0 flammability requirements. It is suitable for use in harsh fluid environments and has open construction to permit drainage to prevent condensation and dissipation of heat and moisture. The material is unaffected by jet fuel, oils, salt water, common cleaners, solvents, and most chemicals and is available in 1/8" to 2-1/2" I.D. sizes for bundles up to 4-1/2" O.D.
