Spring-Loaded Connectors Suit Low-Profile Apps

May 7, 2010
The 810 series horizontal, SMT spring-loaded connectors are suitable for low-profile spring interconnections parallel to the board surface.

The 810 series horizontal, SMT spring-loaded connectors are suitable for low-profile spring interconnections parallel to the board surface. Applications include recharging modules, grounding points, test points, and board edge-to-edge interfaces. Via precision-machining technology, the durable spring pins ensure a one-million cycle life minimum.  Rated at 2A continuous and 3A peak, the pins are gold plated over nickel on the piston and base with gold over nickel plating on the beryllium copper internal spring. A 1.14 mm mid-stroke allows for more travel than most standard-series spring pins, yet the overall length when compressed to mid-stroke is 6.4 mm. Additionally, the pins are mounted on a 2.54-mm pitch in high-temperature thermoplastic insulators. MILL-MAX MANUFACTURING CORP., Oyster Bay, NY. (516) 922-6000.
