Spring Probe/Pad Contact Technology Extends Mil Connector Life

Dec. 14, 2011
ITT Interconnect Solutions’ miniature filtered interconnect features an advanced 24-spring probe-and-pad contact technology that qualifies it for more than 10,000 mating/unmating cycles.

ITT Interconnect Solutions’ miniature filtered interconnect features an advanced 24-spring probe-and-pad contact technology that qualifies it for more than 10,000 mating/unmating cycles. Available in a smaller package than conventional circular connectors, e.g. 38999, the Filter Spring Probe Series connector is designed to extend the operating life of in-the-field military equipment. The filter spring probe & pad contact technology creates a contact by utilizing pressure-point force of the spring-loaded pin to the contact pad.  The contact pad on the receptacle (device) side of the connector is flush with the mating face of the connector and can be easily cleaned by wiping the interface.
