A new reworkable UV cure silicone encapsulant is designed to mask sensitive, fine-pitch leads, said to protect them from environmental damage caused by extreme thermal cycling conditions. Loctite 5071 is a one-part thixotropic silicone paste formulated to cure into a protective elastomer in a few seconds under a UV light.
The encapsulant is said to provide excellent depth of cure and is easy to remove during post cure. Suitable applications include automotive electronics.
