\[July 28, 2006\] Complimenting its four 10/100 Ethernet ports, the ADAM-6521ST industrial Ethernet switch squeezes in an additional multi-mode ST fiber-optic port, which eliminates interference and allows transmission distances of up to 2 km. The switch supports a voltage-input range from 10 to 30 Vdc and provides 3 kVdc of power-surge protection and 4 kVdc of ESD protection on the RJ-45 Ethernet ports. Operating temperature range is from -10°C to +65°C, making it suitable for use in harsh environments. Each port integrates two LEDs that indicate link status and transmission speed. Other features include full/half duplex flow control, a loop-up engine, MDI/MDI-X auto crossover, broadcast storm protection, and DIN rail, panel, and stackable mounting options. Single-unit price starts at $296. ADVANTECH CORP. INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION GROUP, Cincinnati, OH. (877) 294-8989.
