Featuring a built-in serial communications link, the Control Indicator Module (CIM) monitors up to three power circuit trip coils and provides a local manual failsafe switch. The coil configuration can be single, dual or triple, with the module offering three methods for tripping and closing a breaker: from a manual switch on the front panel; using a signal from a relay; or from a remote signal through its serial interface with SCADA.The front panel of the unit provides red, amber and green LEDs that indicate trip-coil operation, trip signals and their sources, and the status of both the external reclose relay and the interface to SCADA. The module also includes an eight-bit, parallel interface.
