The E-1048-700 solid-state remote power controller debuts as the market's first such controller to protect programmable logic controllers (PLCs) from overloads and shorts while amplifying PLC output signals. It does so without the need to change PLC output cards. The module works with 24 Vdc power sources and is available in four current ratings: 0.5A, 1A, 2A and 4A. Eliminating nuisance tripping, the device automatically delays inrush currents up to 40A for approximately 100 ms. Indication of overloads and shorts is via a LED. The controller plugs into any standard 17-P10-Si terminal block or the company's DIN-rail mount 17plus power distribution module. Price for the E-1048-700 is about $40 each in medium production quantities. E-T-A CIRCUIT BREAKERS, Mount Prospect, IL. (800) 462-9979.
