Touted as the next generation of fiber optic amplifiers, these fiber-optic amplifiers are said to be useful in any photoelectric sensing application requiring high-speed, small-target capabilities, even in harsh environments. The FVDK 10 single-channel amplifier offers a broad mix of performance options, while the FVDK 31 modular series is suited for applications using several amplifiers. Both types of fiber optic amplifiers have standard self-diagnostic functions, light-dark selection switches, and release delay selection switches with two LEDs for stability and light reception indication. The FVDK 10 family of single-channel amplifiers has both trimpot-adjustable and push-button, teach-in style units. Both models have extended sensing ranges, high-speed detection, and a response time of 50 ms. The FVDK 31 modular fiber optic sensor has an expandable housing design where individual fiber optic sensors share communication via an internal bus.
