A new jumbo LED panel indicator is designed to be seen from a distance of 100?. The SSI-LXH20R6 indicator resembles a standard LED except its diameter is 20 mm. The indicator is suited for use in industrial and process control annunciator panels, or anywhere a bright and highly visible indicator is needed. This solid-state device provides higher reliability than the incandescent or neon lamp typically used in such applications. Each SSI-LXH20R6 has an LED with six chips molded into a single housing with a hemispherical lens. The housing can snap into panels from 1.5 mm to 4 mm thick, with a hole diameter of 27.1 mm. Six internal LED chips are configured in a series-parallel arrangement and can be driven from any common source of 10.5 to 12 Vdc, at a forward current of If of 30 mA. Power is applied through a pair of leads emanating from the back of the indicator. Virtually any color LED chip can be used, including red, green and blue. For a standard unit with blue LED chips, typical light output level is 120 mcd with an If of 20 mA. Viewing angle is 120°. Pricing starts at $4.80 each/1,000. LUMEX INC., Palatine, IL.
