Offering a constant current and a low feedback voltage, a pair of LED drivers expand the PowerWise product line to power 1W to 5W high-brightness LEDs. The LM3401 and LM3405A handle LEDs suitable for industrial and automotive applications as well as devices for general illumination applications. The LM3401’s input voltage range is 4.5V to 35V and the device includes a scalable current drive of greater than 3A and a 100% duty cycle. A feedback voltage of 0.2V and an accuracy within 3% provide a constant current that ensures a consistent color output from the LED. The LM3405A’s input range is 3V to 22V and it can regulate from a loosely coupled 12V rail found in industrial and commercial lighting applications. The SOT-23 package allows LEDs to fit into small form-factor light bulbs in order to deliver higher efficiency than traditional halogen and incandescent devices.
