Via temperature compensation, the Model ODT-880W GaAlAs LEDs promise to deliver stable output power over a wide temperature range. Their monolithic design is said to be responsible for better tracking of output power, with the detector peak wavelength following the peak LED wavelength more closely as opposed to an external silicon monitoring photodiode. Power output of the LEDs is 20 mW typical at 100 mA. Detector current is 50 µA typical at a drive current of 100 mA. Price is $5.00 each/100. OPTO DIODE CORP., Newbury Park, CA. (805) 499-0335.
