With an advanced lens design achieving uniform brightness over a 180¡ spatial distribution, the new PY1103CK Super Wide Angle SMT LED is said to consume about 50% less power than conventional LEDs. It employs a GaP die material and is available in yellow-green with a clear lens. Luminous intensity is 8.0 mcd at an IF of 10 mA. Forward voltage is typically 2.1V, also at an IF of 10 mA, and the reverse current is 100 µA maximum at a VF of 4V. Operating temperature is -40¡C to +85¡C. Specifically designed for back-lighting cellular phone keypads and other types of switches, its uniform 180¡ spatial distribution makes keypads easy to read and use, the company says. Pricing is $0.04 for a small sample quantity, and varies depending on quantity. STANLEY ELECTRIC SALES OF AMERICA INC., Irvine, CA. (800) 533-5231.
