The Series J255 magnetic-latching, half-size crystal can relay has been designed for military, aerospace and space applications. The dual-pole, dual-throw relay switches up to 2A at 28 Vdc and is rated at a 0.2 dB insertion loss at 1 GHz. The relay consumes less power due to pulse operation on the coil. Relays typically require continuous coil power to remain in the last energized position, but the latching feature only requires the coil to receive a pulse to switch and remain in that position. In addition, with a magnetic latching mechanism, the relay is less susceptible to transfer and chatter in high-shock and high-vibration applications. The hermetically sealed relay is qualified to MIL-PRF-39016/45. A commercial version, the 255, can be used for RF applications up to 3 GHz. Each relay measures 0.81" x 0.425" x 0.41" and weighs 13g. Temperature range is from -65°C to +125°C. Pricing is $148.54 for the J255 and $133.66 for the 255 each/500. TELEDYNE RELAYS, Hawthorne, CA. (800) 284-7007
