Enlarging the EP2 and EP4 families of enhanced-power LEDs, the IR series infrared LEDs are designed for use in remote control and charge-coupled devices, smoke detectors, security lighting, and a variety of other applications. The IR EP2 and EP4 versions, respectively, operate at currents of 350 mA and 700 mA with power dissipations of 0.5W and 1.5W. The EP2 packages provide viewing angles of 10º, 30º, and 100º while the EP4 packages offer viewing angles of 60º, 90º, and 100º. For either package, forward voltages range from 1.4V to 2.5V and radiant intensities span 70 to 800 mW/sr (milliwatts per steradian). Furthermore, the LEDs operate at wavelengths of 850 nm, 880 nm, and 940 nm. In quantity, prices range from $0.50 to $4 each. PARA LIGHT CORP., Walnut, CA. (877) 377-7272.
