Offered as an alternative to traditional key access, the Enable Keypad electronically limits access to battery-powered lift and material handling equipment, allowing users to enable the machine by entering a valid user code on the security keypad. The machine can be disabled by pressing the star key or if the timeout period elapses. After being disabled, a valid user code must be entered before the machine is re-enabled. The user programs the manager code, up to four user codes, and the timeout period. The keypad comes in a 3 x 4 key telephone layout with rubber keys that have tactile feedback greater than one million cycles per key. The programmable timeout period ranges from 1s to a little under 3 hrs. Microprocessor-based with a non-volatile memory, the manager can prevent the machine from being enabled. It accepts two sensor inputs from a machine and is powered by either a 12 or 24 Vdc source. The range of enable output is 0 to 10A. Other features include an audio alarm and LED indicators.
