Shutter Assembly Abets Laser/Fiber Apps

April 1, 2001

Addressing the need for complete shutter assembly at a cost-effective price in low volumes, the TK-CMD targets both laser and fiber-optic applications. The assembly weighs less than 3g and has an operating life of greater than 40,000 cycles.
It incorporates two-step switching with an operating time of less than 2.5 ms to open and less than 1.5 ms to close. Power consumption is approximately 0.5W with average bi-level controls of supply voltage. Said to be advantageous in situations where ambient lighting can be problematic, the total light ingress at closure is less than 1/10,000th compared to full aperture. Price is $5 each/10,000 with delivery from stock to 12 weeks ARO.
