SoC Signals Bluetooth 2.1 Mice

Sept. 23, 2010
The ADNS-7630 Bluetooth 2.1, LaserStream system-on-chip (SoC) navigation sensor for wireless mouse applications is apparently the industry’s first laser navigation sensor to integrate a Bluetooth 2.1 transceiver, stand-alone baseband processor, and VCSEL surface illuminator.

The ADNS-7630 Bluetooth 2.1, LaserStream system-on-chip (SoC) navigation sensor for wireless mouse applications is apparently the industry’s first laser navigation sensor to integrate a Bluetooth 2.1 transceiver, stand-alone baseband processor, and VCSEL surface illuminator within a single package. The sensor delivers motion detection up to 30 ips and 8g acceleration detection. It is also pre-calibrated to meet IEC/EN60825-1 Class 1 Eye Safety standards. Features include support for multiple I/Os (configurable as buttons and LED indicators), support for both mechanical and optical z-wheel and tilt-wheel functions, configurable low-power modes, a programmable resolution from 200 to 3,000 cpi in 250-cpi increments, operation from a 3V supply, up to 10 I/O pins for configuration, and four-axis sensor rotation. Price for the ADNS-7630 is $5 each/10,000. AVAGO TECHNOLOGIES, San Jose, CA. (877) 673-9442.
