Supporting data transmission rates of 56 kilobits/s in modems and communication systems, LM74457 line matching transformer is said to offer superior protection against high-voltage surges for sensitive circuitry. Developed as a universal device and also supporting the current V.34 standard for 28.8-kbs products, the vacuum-encapsulated transformer has been tested to over 4600VRMS for one minute, which meets or exceeds the requirements of most international safety standards. Other key specs include a matching impedance of 600 ohms primary/secondary, dc resistance of 100 ohms ±10%, insertion loss at 2.0 KHz of 2.0 dB max., and a minimum return loss at 200-4 KHz of 14 dB.
