Expanding a line of dc-dc converters approved for medical use, the ME series are UL/cUL 60601-1-compliant and are specifically designed to provide high levels of isolation is a 24-pin dual-in-line package. The converters are rated at 6 W and operate over 2:1 input voltage ranges of 9 to 18 V dc, 18 to 36 V dc, and 36 to 72 V dc. The devices deliver single and dual outputs of 5, 12, ±12, and ±15 V dc. Additional features include low leakage current, overload and short-circuit protection, 5600-V dc I/O isolation, and greater than 700,000 hours MTBF. The converters come in 1.25- by 0.8- by 0.47-in. DIPs and weigh only 0.63 oz. Their ?40°C to 55°C operating temperature range make them well-suited for data communication equipment, telecommunications equipment, mixed analog and digital subsystems, computer peripherals, and industrial robots.
