The firm's CompactFlash family of memory cards has been expanded to include cards with 32 Mbytes and 48 Mbytes. The cards, which are based on the firm's ATA controller technology, are said to offer the industry's fastest sustained write performance at up to 1.4 Mbytes/s. This speed benefits users of the cards in applications such as digital cameras, where faster write performance leads to much lower setup time between pictures. The cards support 5V and 3.3V reads and writes and offer low power consumption of 30 mA in active mode and 150 µA in sleep mode (both at 3.3V).
