Well-suited for 3D graphics and games, as well as high-speed communications applications, the SM84L512K32 high-speed synchronous graphics RAMs (SGRAMs) feature clock frequencies up to 200 MHz coupled with CAS Latency 2 performance of 143 MHz and single cycle block write. The chips are said to be ideal for high-speed 3D graphics applications because they conform to JEDEC specs and support functional requirements of all major graphics controllers. The chips provide bandwidth ranging from 572 Mbytes/s at 143 MHz to 667 Mbytes/s at 167 MHz. Command and data are synchronized to the rising edge of the system clock to enable precise control. The chips are packaged in a 100-pin plastic LQFP.
