Targeting low-end security applications, the BCM5812 Internet protocol security (IPsec) processor integrates a PCI 2.2 interface and supports the 256-bit key Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). The interface allows the device to connect directly to the PCI bus without the aid of additional circuitry. The CMOS IC provides security processing at speeds up to 80 Mb/s and bulk cryptographic acceleration for symmetric encryption algorithms and keyed authentication algorithms. Other features include public key acceleration as basic modular math functions and a random number generator. The chip comes in a 15 x 15-mm FBGA package and dissipates
