Popular MCUs Integrate Transmitter For Industrial Apps

Oct. 12, 2009

The ATA874x MCU-based devices now integrate UHF ASK/FSK RF transmitters, making them viable for a broad range of proprietary wireless industrial and consumer applications such as metering, alarm systems, and home-control applications. The devices operate in the license-free ISM frequency bands: 868 to 928 MHz, 433 MHz, and 315 MHz. Sleep-mode power consumption is 160 nA and the devices integrate the ATtiny44V CPU, which achieves throughputs approaching 1 MIPS per MHz. Samples of the ATA874x family are available in small-outline QFN24 packages. Pricing starts at USD $1 each/200,000. ATMEL CORP., San Jose, CA. (408) 441-0311.
