A chipset consisting of a microcontroller and RF chips enables the design of remote keyless entry (RKE) systems. The 68HC908RFRK2 MCU is a low-voltage device with embedded RF for RKE applications. It’s fully functional down to 1.8V, allowing the keyhead system to operate from one lithium cell. Integrated low-voltage reset protects data in non-volatile memory, while low-voltage detect notifies users when power is low.The set also includes the MC33490 and MC33491 narrow-band transmitters, which operate at 315, 434 and 868 MHz, with the MC33491 also supporting frequency shift keying (FSK). On the receive side, the MC33590 and MC33591 narrow-band receivers provide high immunity to interference. They feature a superheterodyne architecture. Samples and developer’s kits are available.
