The FT12 series of high performance USB controller ICs, from FTDI, is composed of three members which operate at 12 Mbits/s and support direct memory access operation, while providing system interfaces for 8-bit parallel bus and SPI Slave. For the FT120 and FT122 ICs, microcontroller/FPGA connection takes the form of an 8-bit generic parallel interface, while the FT121 supports SPI Slave mode. The FT120 has 3 USB endpoints with 320 Bytes of configurable endpoint buffer. The FT121 and FT122 have greater capacity with up to 8 bi-directional endpoints and 2 kB of endpoint buffer capacity. The FT120 and FT122 are supplied in TSSOP-28 and QFN-28 packages, while the FT121 in TSSOP-16 and QFN-16 packages. Input voltages are 5 V or 3.3 V and the controllers have an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Pricing for the FT120 starts at $1.78 each/50-100, the FT121 starts at $1.73 each/50-100 and the FT122 starts at $1.85 each/50-100.
