Performance and flexibility in optical transceivers is said to be enhanced with the DS1846 NV, a highly integrated chip that combines three linear taper potentiometers with non-volatile memory and a CPU supervisor in reduced TSSOP packaging. Its on-chip micro-monitor tracks parameters critical to processor functions. When a sense input detects an out-of-tolerance voltage level, the micro-monitor initiates and holds a system reset until safe operating conditions return. The monitor is programmable for various voltage levels and includes a manual reset. The 20-pin TSSOPs cost $2.43 each/1,000.
