The latest generation of the company's popular microprocessor, the Rabbit 4000, offers improved features from integrated Ethernet to hardware DMA. Based on the Rabbit 3000 devices, the 4000 is available in two RoHS-compliant packages: a 128-pin LQFP and a 128-pin TFBGA. Added features include integrated 10 Base-T Ethernet, hardware DMA, 16-bit memory support, page-mode memory support, hardware security, hardware breakpoints, variable-phase PWM, up to 40 GPIOs with up to four levels of alternate pin functions, and more than 500 additional instructions. Programming is performed via the Dynamic C software development system, in-circuit and without emulators. Price is below $9 each in volume. RABBIT SEMICONDUCTOR, Davis, CA. (530) 757-8400.
