Developed to control the motion of a single-axis in brushless servo systems, the Pilot MC3310 processor chip is similar in features and performance to the existing MC3110. The new, 132-pin, SMT, CMOS motion processor is powered by a 5V supply and is driven by a host µP through an asynchronous bi-directional serial port, enabling users to offload resource-intensive motion control functions from the system’s host.
With over 150 commands, the chip is designed to provide user-selectable profiling modes, including S-curve, trapezoidal and velocity contouring. And multiple breakpoints are used to provide precise sequencing and control of events by the application program. Starting price for the MC3310 is $29 each in OEM quantities. The DK3310 developer's kit is also available.
