Cellular Test Set Checks Analog/Digital Handsets

Feb. 1, 1999

Combining high-performance features with AMPS, NAMPS, TDMA (IS-54/IS136A) cellular and CDPD test capabilities as standard, the 2959 advanced multi-mode cellular phone test set supports VSELP and ACELP vocoder testing, digital transmitter modulation IQ analysis, handset DTMF signaling, and TDMA time slot change measurements for truly accurate TDMA handset checking. For AMPS and NAMPS handset testing, the instrument measures transmit and receive functions. Tests include call registration, hands-off, page response, SAT/ST frequency error, and antenna/pable loss tests. The CDPD test mode simulates Mobile Data Base Stations and mobile data intermediate systems to allow testing of CDPD wireless modems.
