Driving home-entertainment level audio fidelity on both desktop and notebook PCs while supporting mobile user capabilities such as VoIP, the company's three high-definition (HD) audio codecs claim unprecedented levels of power efficiency. The devices enlist proprietary technology to achieve signal-to-noise ratios in excess of Windows logo program requirements. They also add an analog mixer and support for up to four digital microphones. The IDT IDT92HD73C, IDT92HD73D, and IDT92HD73E provide six, eight, and 10 stereo channels, respectively, enabling simultaneous audio and VoIP capabilities. Each provides a 24-bit stereo resolution with sample rates up to 192 kHz and dual SPDIF outputs. Additionally, the devices are compatible with Intel's HD audio interface. Sampling in 48-pad, RoHS-compliant QFN packages, prices start at $1.62 each/10,000. INTEGRATED DEVICE TECHNOLOGY INC., Santa Clara, CA. (800) 345-7015.
