Providing motion and navigation control in industrial and medical designs, the ADIS16405 six-degrees-of-freedom inertial sensor from Analog Devices, Inc. integrates a tri-axis magnetometer sensor for better heading accuracy while the ADIS16300 four-degrees-of-freedom device promises to break price barriers. The ADIS16405 integrates a three-axis gyroscope, magnetometer, and accelerometer and features 0.05-degree rate-sensor orthogonal-alignment-accuracy. The ADIS16300 integrates a single-axis gyroscope and a three-axis accelerometer. Both sensors operate over a power supply range from 4.75 V to 5.25 V, include a serial peripheral interface (SPI), and offer selectable angular rate sensing. Prices for the ADIS16405 and ADIS16300, respectively, are $412 and $74 each per 1000.
