WiMAX Reference Design Shortens Time-To-Market

The WiMAX Mini-PCI reference design just introduced by Wavesat for the unlicensed 5.8-GHz band promises to open the way for fast deployment of WiMAX systems worldwide.

In order to allow equipment manufacturers to rapidly bring WiMAX systems to market, Wavesat Inc. has created a Mini-PCI reference design for the unlicensed 5.8-GHz band. The reference design, which is in the form of an extended-length Mini-PCI card, provides a complete plug-and-play solution for the lower-layer air interface and time-critical low-level MAC functionality (see figure www.wavesat.com.
