The HGC Series precision thick-film chip resistors employ the same fine-line patterning found in the HVC series, but offer precision high-resistance values at a lower cost than the HVC. The HGC components rely on a proprietary method of depositing the thick film resistance material on the ceramic substrate, which promises a resistance element that is more stable, less noisy, and capable of much higher resistance values when compared to similar chip resistors. Available in sizes from 0402 to 2512 and values from 1 kOhms to 2 TeraOhms, tolerances range from 20% down to 0.25% and TCR’s range from 200 ppm to 25 ppm. Tighter tolerances and lower TCR’s are also possible for certain values. Depending on size, tolerance, TCR, and resistance value, prices typically range from $0.50 each to around $4 each.
