A new film capacitor, the UNLYTIC UL30, has been designed in values and sizes identical to those of electrolytics. With 10 times greater current density and three times greater overvoltage protection compared to electrolytic capacitors, the UL30 has voltage ratings to 1,000 Vdc. Operating temperatures range from -55°C to +85°C. The UNLYTIC UL30 was designed to improve high-power systems without making conceptual changes. It is said to have a 10-year shelf life. A dry-film dielectric construction protects against harmful electrolytic leakage. RMS is to 58A and capacitance is to 1,600 µF. A M12 mounting stud termination is optional. Pricing for the film capacitors ranges from $18 to $48 per unit. For more details, call ELECTRONIC CONCEPTS INC., Eatontown, NJ. (732) 542-7880.
