With its construction of polypropylene extended foil and internal series wound connection, this new family of film-type capacitors is said to offer five times the discharge current capability compared to metallized polypropylene capacitors. The SP84 family of polypropylene film-foil capacitors is offered with a voltage range of from 400 vdc/250 vac to 2000 vdc/600 vac and capacitances values from 100 pF to 0.47 µF. Other features include excellent dv/dt, low ESR, high IR and 0.1% maximum dissipation factor. The film caps are available in four package styles: radial box, radial epoxy, dipped, axial round and axial oval.
