Manufactured to MIL-PRF-55514 specs, Series 4ME12 high-voltage metallized polyester film capacitors are said to exhibit a virtual zero reject rate and superior protection against arcing. Added insulation and epoxy end-fill are employed to help ensure protection of these self-healing caps against potential arcing problems. Well-suited for use in multiplier circuit applications, such as electrostatic copiers, oscilloscopes, and high-voltage power supplies, the film caps span voltage ratings from 1000 to 15,000 vdc, with other values available as specials. The caps’ axial leads are tinned copper-clad steel. Other features include: 0.001 to 1.0 µF capacitance range; ±20% and ±10% capacitance tolerance; and -40°C to 85°C operating temperature range.
