Offering what may be the highest resistance values and highest absolute voltage ratings available, the HVC series high-voltage chip resistors now provide resistance values up to 10 GigaOhms. Additionally, the series now provides absolute maximum voltage ratings that are significantly higher than the previous versions. Other features include 0.5% tolerances and TCRs of 25 ppm. The components exploit a proprietary method for depositing the thick film resistance material on the substrate, yielding a resistance element that is more stable, less noisy, and capable of higher voltages and resistance values when compared to similar high voltage resistors. Additional absolute maximum voltage ratings by chip size include 2512 up to 25 kV, 2010 up to 20 kV, 1206 up to 15 kV, 0805 up to 10 kV, and 0603 up to 5 kV. Pricing varies with size, tolerance, TCR, and resistance value, typically from $0.40 each to $4 each. STACKPOLE ELECTRONICS INC., Raleigh, NC. (888) 734-7347.
