Designed for cost-effective power measurement, the TT series split-core ac-current transformers employ a unique core material that is said to enable high performance at an attractive price. The core material is a new type of ferrite with improved magnetic permeability, allowing the accurate measurement of ac signals within an extended frequency range that includes 50/60Hz. Absolute accuracy is better than 1% at the nominal current and even better for lower primary currents. The ferrite material provides a linearity of better than 0.1%, and the transformers exhibit a phase shift of 1.5° ±1° between measured voltage and current. Two primary-current measurement ranges are available: 50A and 100A. The TT 50-SD measures 36.5 mm x 43 mm x 31.5 mm with an 8-mm diameter sensing aperture, while the TT 100-SD measures 44.5 mm x 51 mm x 36.5 mm with a 16-mm diameter sensing aperture. Both transformers sport a 3,000:1 ratio. LEM USA INC., Milwaukee, WI. (800) 236-5366.
